how we work

Eight things worth knowing about the Pomelo blog, in plain language.

1. Who is accountable

Pomelo Fitness publishes this blog and answers for it. Write to hello@pomelofitness.com. The address is monitored.

2. Which bylines are pen names

Both of them. Tess Marlow and Eli Brandt are editorial voices, not people. Neither has a biography, a face, or a credential, and each author page says so in its first lines.

3. How a post is made

A post starts as a brief: a subject, a voice, and a shape. Software drafts it against that voice's written rules, runs it through a set of checks, sends it back for a fix when a check fails, and publishes it on a schedule when every check passes. Publication is automatic. No person reads a post before it goes up.

There are two kinds of post. Evidence pieces are built from named studies and from experts' published work, and every claim in them has a source on the sentence that makes it. Lifestyle pieces are about how to start, keep going, or plan a week, and they make no factual claim that would need a source. A post is stopped, not published, when a quote does not match its source word for word, when a number has no source, when a health claim has no study behind it, when an event could not be confirmed, or when a lifestyle piece strays into claims.

4. How sources are chosen and cited

  • Primary research and named experts' published work, never secondary health sites.
  • Quotes are checked against the source and must match it word for word.
  • No number is printed without a source.
  • Every citation is linked on the sentence that uses it, and listed again under Sources.

5. How experts are quoted

From their published work only. We do not contact them, and quoting someone never implies they endorse Pomelo.

6. How AI is used

Posts are generated by AI. People set the rules the posts are written to, watch what the checks and readers report, and correct errors. Nobody reviews a post before it publishes, which is why every post carries the line "Written with AI" and the date of its last automated check.

7. Corrections

Report an error to hello@pomelofitness.com. A confirmed error is corrected or the post is unpublished promptly. Every correction is dated on the page under a Corrections heading. Nothing is edited silently.

8. Commercial disclosure

Pomelo makes the app the posts mention, and links into it are ours. There is no sponsored content and no affiliate content on this blog.
